Our local Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) is the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service (NRGDS). This is run by the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust.

Official information on the service can be found here. Waiting lists for GICs can be very long and the wait for NRGDS is currently about 2 years, so if you think you may need an appointment it is advisable to see your GP for a referral sooner rather than later.

We are currently collecting personal experiences with this service through our survey. If you have accessed NRDGS, please let us know how your appointment went! You can read about some people’s experiences with this service here on Reddit.
