Blog under the cut, recipe up top!
This recipe is: cheap, gluten free (if made with gluten free oats), suitable for batch-cooking, nightshade free.
2 tbsp vegetable oil
8 tbsp chocolate & hazelnut spread
300g porridge oats
- Preheat oven to 160°C
- Melt the nutella in a large bowl in the microwave (approx 40 seconds)
- Stir in the oil
- Add the oats to the bowl and stir around till they’re coated, or mostly
- Bake for 15-20 min and then leave to cool before crumbling it up as required
If you wanted to scale up to a 400g jar of nutella(/equivalent), the proportions would be: 1 jar, 175ml oil & 1.5kg oats.
Did you know you can make granola??
This recipe was inspired by Jack Monroe’s 8p PB&J granola. Except I don’t like peanut butter, but I do like nutella! Which, if you think about it, is sort of a nut butter…
This is a perfect 2am snack, which is when I’m writing this post, because it’s nutella-based, but also has oats to keep you going! I get insomnia quite a lot and have noticed my mood drops substantially if I don’t keep my body fuelled when I’m awake for longer than expected. Look after yourselves, gang.
